British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMC operating BA10 Bangkok – London Heathrow was being pushed back from the stand at Bangkok when it partially sank into soft tarmac. The aircraft was pulled onto harder ground by a tug and after a satisfactory inspection was able to operate the flight with a delay of around two hours.

British Airways B777-200ER G-VIIR Operates Male/Colombo Rotation.

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIR operated the BA2043/BA2042 London Gatwick – Male – Colombo rotation this evening. This was due to the late arrival of sister G-YMMR as BA2062 from Mauritius. The Male/Colombo service is booked for a Rolls Royce engined G-YMM* aircraft as the sector length requires the crew rest facilities on these aircraft.

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIF operating BA177 London Heathrow – New York JFK declared Mayday and diverted to Shannon this afternoon due to smoke in the cockpit. Crew donned oxygen masks in order to make a safe landing and were able to vacate the runway before shutting down the engines.

Following its earlier technical issue at Basle, British Airways A319 G-EUOA operating BA1344 London Heathrow – Leeds Bradford returned to the stand at London Heathrow this evening due to a further technical issue. The flight and the return BA1345 were subsequently cancelled.

British Airways B787-8 G-ZBJD Returns to Service.

British Airways B787-8 G-ZBJD, which has been out of service at London Heathrow since 22nd October, returned to traffic today operating BA189 London Heathrow – Newark. The airport was reported to have been struck by a baggage truck at Toronto on 21st October, and we have also received reports that it was further damaged at London Heathrow during the high winds on 28th October.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB operated yesterday’s delayed BA25 London Heathrow – Hong Kong this morning after arriving as BA26 from Hong Kong. This flight was scheduled to have been operated by sister G-XLEA which has been delayed in maintenance at London Heathrow since arriving as BA26 from Hong Kong on 29th October.
