British Airways A320 G-EUYJ operated BA1336 London Heathrow – Newcastle this evening, however the return BA1337 was cancelled due to a technical issue with the aircraft. Passengers were flown to London on BA1317 Aberdeen – London Heathrow which diverted via Newcastle to collect them.

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIF overnighted at Boston after operating BA239 from London Heathrow yesterday, however this morning’s return to London Heathrow as BA238 has been delayed overnight indicating a technical issue with the aircraft.

British Airways B767-300ER G-BNWY Monrovia Technical Issue.

British Airways Boeing 767-336ER G-BNWY overnighted at Monrovia after operating BA137 from London Heathrow and Freetown yesterday. However a technical issue became apparent this morning with which the aircraft was permitted to fly, but only for one sector. Hence today’s BA136 operated Monrovia – London Heathrow direct with no stop in Freetown.

British Airways A318 G-EUNB Bleed Valve Issue Causes BA3/4 Cancellation.

British Airways A318 G-EUNB still had a bleed air fault today causing the cancellation of the BA3/BA4 London City – New York JFK. The aircraft could not operate via the same non Etops Shannon – New York JFK route as yesterday due to increased headwinds meaning the aircraft would have needed a further technical stop.

British Airways B777-200ER G-YMMF Returns from Cardiff Maintenance.

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMF, which has been under maintenance at Cardiff-Wales since 14th January, positioned Cardiff-Wales – London Heathrow this afternoon as BA9176. The aircraft had been scheduled to return to traffic yesterday but was retained at Cardiff-Wales due to engine vibration issues.

British Airways A318 G-EUNB Operates Non Etops BA3.

British Airways A318 G-EUNB operating BA3 London City – Shannon – New York JFK encountered a bleed valve fault today requiring the flight to operate a non-Etops routing which required the airports at Iqaluit and Kangerlussuaq to remain open to provide diversionary cover. The routing meant the Shannon – New York JFK sector took around 90 minutes longer than usual.

British Airways B747-400 G-BNLR Withdrawn.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-BNLR was withdrawn from service this morning at London Heathrow after arriving as BA142 from Delhi. The aircraft then positioned London Heathrow – Cardiff-Wales as BA9173 for decommissioning. This brings the officially active British Airways B747-400 fleet down to 50 aircraft.

British Airways A319 G-DBCA Returns from Prestwick Maintenance.

British Airways A319 G-DBCA, which has been under maintenance at Prestwick since 21st December, positioned Prestwick – London Heathrow this evening as BA9271.  This was the final shorthaul Airbus requiring wing corrosion modifications to pass through the facility and therefore it will be closed shortly.

British Airways B767-300ER G-BNWN BA79 Accra Birdstrike.

British Airways Boeing 767-336ER G-BNWN operating BA79 London Heathrow – Accra (depart London Heathrow 12th January) sustained a damaged landing gear sensor on landing at Accra this morning due to a birdstrike. As a result the return BA80 has been delayed overnight.

British Airways B777-200ER G-VIIH Operates BA187.

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIH operated the BA187/BA186 rotation today in place of the usual Boeing 787-8. This is to provide additional uplift on the return sector for passengers affected by the double delayed BA186 of 8th January.

British Airways B787-8 G-ZBJB Further Newark Technical Issue.

Following the technical issue it encountered yesterday, British Airways Boeing 787-8 G-ZBJB was preparing to depart Newark tonight as yesterday’s delayed BA186 Newark – London Heathrow, when it returned to the stand with a hydraulic issue. The flight was subsequently cancelled.

British Airways A320 G-EUYG BA1448 Glasgow Diversion.

British Airways A320 G-EUYG operating BA1448 London Heathrow – Edinburgh diverted to Glasgow this afternoon due to a security alert at Edinburgh. Although the aircraft’s scheduled return to London Heathrow as BA1455 was cancelled, the aircraft did use BA1455 as its callsign to position Glasgow – London Heathrow.

A new crew, which had positioned to Shannon aboard Aer Lingus EI385 from London Heathrow, continued the flight Shannon – London Heathrow.

As a result cabin crew did not have enough hours to reach London Gatwick and so the flight diverted via Venice to enable crew to be changed.

Following its enforced extra downtime at London Heathrow yesterday when a hangar door opening mechanism failed, British Airways Boeing 767-336ER G-BNWM returned to service this morning operating the BA235/BA234 London Heathrow – Moscow Domodedovo rotation.
