British Airways A321 G-EUXI was unable to operate the BA576/BA577 London Heathrow – Milan Linate rotation today due to a dent in Door 4L which was outside operating limits. The flights were subsequently cancelled.

Following an A380 maintenance delay at London Heathrow, British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVY operated the BA269/BA268 London Heathrow – Los Angeles rotation today. Outbound crew was sourced from the scheduled BA197 London Heathrow – Houston meaning this service was cancelled. The return BA268 will be delayed overnight while the crew has minimum rest and will operate tomorrow as BA9607.

British Airways A380 G-XLEA Delayed in Maintenance.

British Airways A380 G-XLEA, which arrived into London Heathrow as BA26 from Hong Kong early this morning, was delayed in maintenance and was unable to operate the BA269/BA268 London Heathrow – Los Angeles rotation as scheduled. A Boeing 747-400 was substituted in.

British Airways Boeing 767-336ER G-BNWN operated BA902 London Heathrow – Frankfurt this morning, then returned as cargo flight BA903F. BA903 was unable to operate as a passenger flight due to a Security Staff strike at Frankfurt preventing the processing of outgoing passengers.

British Airways A380 G-XLEC operating BA269 London Heathrow – Los Angeles diverted via Keflavik due to a medical emergency on board. The aircraft landed overweight but was cleared to continue after around three hours on the ground. This was the first appearance of a BA A380 at Keflavik.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-BNLW arrived into Delhi this morning as BA257 from London Heathrow (depart London 19th February) suffered a brake seizure on landing causing several tyres to deflate and damaging landing gear. As a result the return BA256 has been delayed overnight.

British Airways Announces A380 Service to Singapore.

British Airways today announced that it will commence A380 service on the London Heathrow – Singapore route from 28th October 2014. A380s will take over the BA11/BA12 London Heathrow – Singapore rotation departing London Heathrow on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and returning on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. A380 service is planned daily from February 15th.

British Airways A320 G-EUUV, which has been under maintenance at London Heathrow since 13th February, returned to service this morning operating the BA458/BA459 London Heathrow – Madrid and BA818/BA819 London Heathrow – Copenhagen rotations. The aircraft then returned to the maintenance facility.

British Airways Boeing 767-336ER G-BNWS operating BA136 Monrovia – Freetown – London Heathrow encountered a bird strike on take off from Monrovia and returned for a safe landing around 30 minutes after take off. The flight was subsequently cancelled.
