British Airways A321 G-MEDM Returns from Gatwick Maintenance.

British Airways A321 G-MEDM, which has been under maintenance at London Gatwick since 16th March, returned to service this afternoon operating the BA2624/BA2625 London Gatwick – Nice rotation. The aircraft then positioned London Gatwick – London Heathrow as BA9174. This is the first use of a midhaul A321 in regular service from London Gatwick. The aircraft has been fitted with a containerised baggage system and is now compatible with T5 operations at London Heathrow.

British Airways A319 G-EUOC Returns from Venice into Amsterdam Rescue Mission.

Following the lightning strike it encountered yesterday and the B737-400 technical issue at Amsterdam, British Airways A319 G-EUOC positioned Venice – Amsterdam late this afternoon as BA9272, then operated the delayed BA2761 Amsterdam – London Gatwick as Amsterdam – London Heathrow, with passengers being transferred to London Gatwick by road.

British Airways A320 G-EUUU BA1306 Edinburgh Diversion.

British Airways A320 G-EUUU operating BA1306 London Heathrow – Aberdeen diverted to Edinburgh this morning due to poor visibility at Aberdeen. As a result the return BA1307 was cancelled. The aircraft positioned Edinburgh – London Heathrow using BA1307 as its callsign.

British Airways B747-400 G-CIVF Rapid New York JFK Turnaround.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVF operated BA183 London Heathrow – New York JFK this evening, however instead of overnighting at JFK as scheduled and returning tomorrow morning as BA178, following the earlier B747-400 technical issue at JFK it turned around immediately to operate the delayed BA182 New York JFK – London Heathrow.

British Airways B747-400 G-BNLK New York JFK Technical Issue.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-BNLK arrived into New York JFK as BA179 from London Heathrow this evening. However the aircraft then encountered a technical issue which prevented it from operating back to London Heathrow this evening and causing a re-shuffle of the JFK aircraft departures.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVF arrived into Riyadh as BA263 from London Heathrow late last night, however its scheduled return to London Heathrow as BA262 early this morning was cancelled due to crew illness. All passengers will be accommodated on tomorrow’s scheduled BA262 service. A new crew will position to Riyadh on today’s BA263 and they will ferry G-CIVF back to London Heathrow after minimum rest.

Following its medical return to London Heathrow yesterday, British Airways Boeing 787-8 G-ZBJB departed London Heathrow again early this evening operating yesterday’s delayed BA277 London Heathrow – Hyderabad as BA277X. Following the earlier Boeing 787-8 technical issue and swap at London Heathrow, British Airways Boeing 767-336ER G-BNWO operated BA187 London Heathrow – Newark. However due to there being no Boeing 767 flight crew available at Newark, the return BA186 has been delayed overnight and will operate once the outbound crew have had minimum rest.

British Airways B787-8 BA277 London Heathrow Medical Emergency Return.

Following the earlier Boeing 787-8 technical issue at London Heathrow, British Airways Boeing 787-8 G-ZBJB was switched from operating BA187 London Heathrow – Newark to operating BA277 London Heathrow – Hyderabad. However shortly after take off there was a medical emergency on board requiring the aircraft to return to London Heathrow. Once cleared crew did not have sufficient hours to operate the flight, and with no standby crew available the flight has been delayed overnight and passengers accommodated.

British Airways B747-400 G-CIVD BA206 Miami Technical Return.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVD operating BA206 Miami – London Heathrow stopped the climb at 11,000 ft due to a technical issue and entered a hold to work checklists, the aircraft then headed for London and climbed to 31,000 ft before quickly descending to 21,000 ft and returning to Miami for a safe landing. Passengers have been accommodated overnight.

British Airways B777-200ER G-YMMH Operates Delayed Jeddah Service.

Following yesterday’s B777-200ER technical issue at London Heathrow, British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMH operated yesterday’s delayed BA133 London Heathrow – Jeddah late this afternoon as BA133X, and will operate today’s BA132 Jeddah – London Heathrow in the early hours of tomorrow morning as BA132X.

British Airways B747-400 G-BNLT Withdrawn.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-BNLT was withdrawn from service at London Heathrow this morning after arriving as BA176 from New York JFK. The aircraft then positioned London Heathrow – Cardiff-Wales as BA9174 for decommissioning.
