British Airways A380 G-XLEB positioned London Heathrow – London Gatwick as BA9171 this evening. This is to be in place to position London Gatwick – Manila for maintenance early tomorrow. The required arrival time in Manila meaning a middle of the night departure from London which is not possible from London Heathrow.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB positioned Johannesburg – Durban as BA9160 this morning in order to operate training circuits s BA9161 and BA9162. The aircraft then positioned Durban – Johannesburg as BA9169.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB positioned Johannesburg – Durban as BA9160 this morning in order to operate training circuits as BA9161 – BA9164. The aircraft then positioned Durban – Johannesburg as BA9169.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB BA55 Heathrow Return to Gate.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB preparing to operate BA55 London Heathrow – Johannesburg returned to the gate this evening. This was initially due to a security issue and subsequently a technical fault which meant crew would time out before reaching Johannesburg. Passengers have been accommodated overnight.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB BA268 Minneapolis-St Paul Diversion.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB operating BA268 Los Angeles – London Heathrow (depart Los Angeles 15th July) diverted via Minneapolis-St Paul in the early hours of this morning due to a medical emergency involving a crew member. This is the first appearance of a British Airways  A380 at Minneapolis-St Paul.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB positioned London Heathrow – Chateauroux as BA9160 this morning to operate training circuits as BA9161 – BA9164. The aircraft positioned Chateauroux – London Heathrow during the afternoon as BA9169.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB BA268 Lightning Strikes.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB operating BA268 Los Angeles – London Heathrow (depart Los Angeles 26th March) encountered a double lightning strike on approach to London Heathrow this afternoon. The aircraft was removed for checks after arrival but was able to operate its next scheduled flight, BA25 London Heathrow – Hong Kong, with a three hour delay.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB Bird Strike Damage.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB sustainted bird strike damage, presumably whilst on approach to London Heathrow as BA26 from Hong Kong this morning, and consequently was unable to operate BA25 London Heathrow – Hong Kong this evening. The flight has been delayed overnight and will be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER.

Following repair after its fuel leak on 7th December, A380 G-XLEB undertook a training day today positioning London Heathrow – Paris Vatry as BA9160, Paris Vatry – Chateauroux as BA9162 and then performing Chateauroux – Chateauroux circuits as BA9163/BA9164/BA9165/BA9166/BA9167/BA9168/BA9169. The aircraft then positioned Chateauroux – London Heathrow as BA9161.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB Heathrow Technical Issue.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB encountered a fuel leak at London Heathrow today meaning it was unable to operate the BA269/BA268 London Heathrow – Los Angeles rotation as scheduled. Boeing 747-400 G-BYGF substituted with a six and a half hour delay.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB positioned London Heathrow – Chateauroux as BA9160 this morning, then operated Chatearoux – Chatearoux training flights as BA9162 and BA9163. The aircraft then positioned Chateauroux – London Heathrow as BA9164 before returning to service as BA25 London Heathrow – Hong Kong.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB positioned London Heathrow – Paris Vatry as BA9160 this morning then operated a series of training flights from both Paris Vatry and Chateauroux as BA9162/BA9163/BA9164/BA9165/BA9166/BA9167/BA9168/BA9169 and BA9161. The aircraft then positioned Chateauroux – London Heathrow as BA9262.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB Operates Delayed BA25.

British Airways A380 G-XLEB operated yesterday’s delayed BA25 London Heathrow – Hong Kong this morning after arriving as BA26 from Hong Kong. This flight was scheduled to have been operated by sister G-XLEA which has been delayed in maintenance at London Heathrow since arriving as BA26 from Hong Kong on 29th October.

Brtish Airways A380 G-XLEB was delivered Toulouse – London Heathrow as BA380 this afternoon. The brings the A380 fleet up to two aircraft.
