British Airways B747-400 G-CIVK Returns to Service.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVK, which encountered a technical issue at Accra on 20th July and has been under maintenance at London Heathrow since returning from Ghana on 23rd July, returned to service this afternoon operating BA209 London Heathrow – Miami.

Following the technical issue it encountered on 20th July, British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVK departed Accra late this evening operating the delayed BA78 Accra – London Heathrow of 20th July as BA78X. The aircraft then entered the London Heathrow maintenance facility.

Following the technical issue it encountered on 29th June, British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVK positioned Vancouver – Toronto – London Heathrow this evening as BA9178. The flight was undertaken on three engines hence the need to stop at Toronto.

The BA9/BA10 London Heathrow – Bangkok rotation changes schedule and switches from Boeing 747-400 to Boeing 777-200ER operation today. As a result of the start of the new timetable Boeing 747-436 G-CIVK operated today’s Bangkok – London Heathrow service to the new schedule but using flight number BA1010.
