British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-BNLS operating BA207 London Heathrow – Miami encountered a lightning strike on approach to Miami and was unable to operate the return BA206 as scheduled. Sister G-CIVN, which operated BA209 London Heathrow – Miami was therefore turned quickly to operate the BA206 back to London Heathrow. It was hoped that repairs could be made to G-BNLS in order for it to operate BA208 Miami – London Heathrow with minimal delay however this did not prove possible and the flight has been delayed overnight.
