British Airways B747-400 G-CIVN Accra Technical Issue.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVN operated BA81 London Heathrow – Accra this morning, however the return BA78 was cancelled due to a technical issue making the aircraft unable to operate in passenger service. After midnight the aircraft did operate Accra – London Heathrow using the BA78 callsign but carrying cargo only.

British Airways B747-400 G-CIVN BA65 London Heathrow Technical Return.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVN operating BA65 London Heathrow – Nairobi stopped the climb at 6,500 this morning due to the nosewheel not retracting. The aircraft then entered a hold over Canterbury to work checklists, moved to a second hold off Hastings at 8,000ft to burn fuel then returned to London Heathrow for a safe landing.

British Airways B747-400 G-CIVN Returns from Cardiff Maintenance.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVN, which has been under maintenance at Cardiff-Wales since 3rd April, positioned Cardiff-Wales – London Heathrow this evening as BA9172. The aircraft has been fitted with new seat coverings in Economy and World Traveller Plus but retains Rockwell Collins IFE.

B747-400 G-CIVN Returns from Johannesburg.

Following yesterday’s delay British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVN departed Johannesburg early this afternoon operating yesterday’s delayed BA54 Johannesburg – London Heathrow as BA54X.

B747-400 G-CIVN Returns from Cardiff Maintenance.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVN, which has been under maintenance at Cardiff-Wales since 6th October, positioned Cardiff-Wales – London Heathrow late this afternoon as BA9172.

B747-400 G-BNLS BA207 Miami Lightning Strike.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-BNLS operating BA207 London Heathrow – Miami encountered a lightning strike on approach to Miami and was unable to operate the return BA206 as scheduled. Sister G-CIVN, which operated BA209 London Heathrow – Miami was therefore turned quickly to operate the BA206 back to London Heathrow. It was hoped that repairs could be made to G-BNLS in order for it to operate BA208 Miami – London Heathrow with minimal delay however this did not prove possible and the flight has been delayed overnight.
