British Airways B747-400 G-CIVV BA57 Barcelona Diversion and Heathrow Return.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVV operating BA57 London Heathrow – Johannesburg (depart London Heathrow 14th January) turned back over Africa and diverted to Barcelona this morning and then returned to London Heathrow. The initial diversion was due to a passengers with a medical issue, although it is not clear why the diversion was not to an African airport. Having gone to Barcelona crew had sufficient hours to return to London Heathrow but not to set off again for Johannesburg.

British Airways B747-400 G-CIVV BA174 St Johns Medical & Dublin Diversions.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVV operating BA174 New York JFK – London Heathrow (depart New York JFK 14th August) diverted via St Johns, Newfoundland in the early hours of this morning due to a medical emergency on board. Crew did not have sufficient hours to reach London Heathrow and the aircraft therefore further diverted to Dublin where a substitute crew had positioned to take the aircraft on to London Heathrow.

British Airways B747-400 G-CIVV BA114 Cardiff-Wales Diverison.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVV operating BA114 New York JFK – London Heathrow (depart New York JFK 10th March) diverted via Cardiff-Wales this morning due a combination of long fog based hold times at London Heathrow and the temporary closure of the north runway following an American Airlines emergency landing.

British Airways B747-400 G-CIVV Returns from Cardiff Maintenance.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVV, which has been under maintenance at Cardiff-Wales since 28th December 2015, positioned Cardiff-Wales – London Heathrow this afternoon as BA9172. The aircraft has been reconfigured from 14F/70J/30W/185Y to 14F/86J/30W/145Y with Panasonic IFE. It is the fifth of eighteen aircraft to be reconfigured.

B747-400 G-CIVV BA117 Heathrow Technical Return.

British Airways Boeing 747-438 G-CIVV operating BA117 London Heathrow – New York JFK was around two and a half hours into the flight when it turned back to London Heathrow due to issues with the #3 engine. The flight was eventually operated  late in the afternoon by sister G-BYGF.

B747-400 G-CIVV Operates Delayed BA57.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVV operated yesterday’s delayed BA57 London Heathrow – Johannesburg this afternoon as BA57Y. It will return operating today’s BA54 as a day flight tomorrow using callsign BA54X.

G-CIVV Returns from New York.

Boeing 747-436 G-CIVV, which has been at New York JFK since encountering a technical issue on 7th July, positioned New York JFK – London Heathrow this morning as BA9170.

B747-400 G-CIVV JFK Technical Issue.

Boeing 747-436 G-CIVV operated BA173 London Heathrow – New York JFK today however the return BA112 was cancelled indicating a technical issue with the aircraft.
