British Airways today announced that it will extend the BA125/BA124 London Heathrow – Bahrain service to Dammam from 1st December. This is the first time British Airways will have served Dammam since 2002. The revised schedule for the Boeing 777-200ER service is as follows:

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMD operating BA2043 London Gatwick – Male (depart London Gatwick 7th December) encountered a bird strike on arrival this morning. The aircraft was able to operate the return BA2042 with a six hour delay but with a performance penalty requiring it to route via Budapest for a crew change.

British Airways B777-200ER G-VIIF Suspected Boston Technical Issue.

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIF overnighted at Boston after arriving as BA239 from London Heathrow yesterday evening, however it did not operate the return BA238 this morning. There was a spare Boeing 777-200ER at Boston following a technical issue yesterday and there were adequate crews at Boston to operate both today’s BA238 and a positioning flight. As G-VIIF remained at Boston for a second overnight it appears to have encountered a technical issue.

British Airways B777-200ER G-VIIR Returns from Orlando, Diverts to New York JFK.

Following the technical issue it encountered on 1st November, British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIR departed Orlando in the early hours of this morning operating the delayed BA2036 Orlando – London Gatwick of 1st November as BA9601. Around 40 minutes into the flight at 37,000ft a further technical issue became apparent and the aircraft descended to 15,000ft, dropped the landing gear to cool overheating brakes and turned back towards Orlando before turning around again and heading to New York JFK at a maximum of 20,000ft. Late at night the aircraft operated BA2272 New York JFK – London Gatwick.

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMS, which has been operating from London Gatwick since 1st February 2017, positioned London Gatwick – London Heathrow as BA9159 early this afternoon after arriving as the final BA2278 from Oakland. The aircraft then operated BA9 London Heathrow – Bangkok.

Following the technical diversion of BA161 London Heathrow – Shanghai Pudong to Helsinki in the early hours of this morning, Britisjh Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMK positioned London Heathrow – Helsinki early this afternoon in order to continue the diverted service, routing Helsinki – Shanghai Pudong as BA161.

British Airways B777-200ER G-VIIO BA2262 Halifax Diversion.

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIO operating BA2262 Kingston – London Gatwick (depart Kingston 27th August) diverted via Halifax, Nova Scotia in the early hours of this morning. The aircraft continued after just over an hour on the ground. The reason for the diversion is not yet clear.

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIR operated today’s scheduled BA2153 London Gatwick – Bridgetown, however due to yesterday’s service being delayed by 24 hours there is insufficient rested crew at Bridgetown to operate all return service today. Therefore the aircraft will overnight at Bridgetown.

British Airways B777-200ER G-YMMC Oakland Cancellation.

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMC operated BA2279 London Gatwick – Oakland this morning, however the return BA2278 was cancelled with the airline showing a technical issue. However an hour after the scheduled departure of BA2278 the aircraft departed Oakland for London Gatwick as BA9601, a flight number which indicates a passenger service.
