30th June 2011 - G-LCYP enters service.

Embraer E190 G-LCYP entered service for BA Cityflyer today operating BA8700 London City - Edinburgh. This aircraft brings the BA CityFlyer fleet up to 13 aircraft; 7 x E190s and 6 x E170s.

29th June 2011 - G-BNWW BA163 Diversion.

BA163 London Heathrow - Tel Aviv operated by Boeing 767-336ER G-BNWW diverted via Larnaca for approximately an hour. We understand that there were problems with the runway lights at Tel Aviv causing several diversions.

29th June 2011 - G-EUPT BA416 Diversion.

BA416 London Heathrow - Luxembourg operated by Airbus A319 G-EUPT diverted to Brussels and returned to London Heathrow still as BA416. Luxembourg airport was closed reportedly due to a security issue.

29th June 2011 - Whoah - We’re not going to Barbados.

The BA2153/BA2252 London Gatwick - Barbados rotation was cancelled today.

29th June 2011 - Heathrow cancellations.

BA1301 Aberdeen - London Heathrow and the BA983/BA983 London Heathrow - Berlin Tegel rotation were cancelled today.

28th June 2011 - G-BUSK Gatwick test flight.

Withdrawn Airbus A320 G-BUSK flew London Gatwick - London Gatwick as BA9271 today as a test flight prior to return to the lessor.

28th June 2011 - G-CIVK BA193 Montreal diversion.

BA193 London Heathrow - Dallas-Fort Worth operated by Boeing 747-436 G-CIVK diverted via Montreal today. We believe the diversion was medical.

28th June 2011 - Heathrow diversions and cancellations.

Due to severe weather at London Heathrow the following rotations were cancelled:

BA736/BA737 London Heathrow - Geneva.

BA442/BA443 London Heathrow - Amsterdam.

BA914/BA915 London Heathrow - Frankfurt.

BA1316/BA1317 London Heathrow - Aberdeen.

BA1336/BA1337 London Heathrow - Newcastle.

BA1458/BA1465 London Heathrow - Edinburgh.

BA1486/BA1493 London Heathrow - Glasgow.

BA1318 London Heathrow - Aberdeen operated by A320 G-EUUX diverted to Edinburgh.

27th June 2011 - G-BNWH Calgary issue.

BA102 Calgary - London Heathrow has been delayed until early morning on 29th June indicting a technical issue with Boeing 767-336ER G-BNWH which arrived into Calgary as BA103. G-BNWH returned to London Heathrow empty as BA9608 as a daytime flight on 29th June.

27th June 2011 - Heathrow cancellations.

The BA139/BA138 London Heathrow - Mumbai and BA245/BA244 London Heathrow - Buenos Aires rotations were cancelled today.

26th June 2011 - Gatwick - Manchester cancellation.

The BA2906/BA2907 London Gatwick - Manchester rotation was again cancelled today.

26th June 2011 - G-DOCT BA8034 Cancellation.

BA8034 Jersey - London Gatwick was cancelled this morning. The flight was scheduled to be operated by Boeing 737-436 G-DOCT which arrived into Jersey yesterday as BA8039. This indicates a technical problem with the aircraft.

25th June 2011 - G-YMMC BA245 Diversion.

Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMC operating BA245 London Heathrow - Buenos Aires (depart Heathrow 24th June) diverted via Rio de Janeiro reaching Buenos Aires with a delay of 16 hours. The return flight BA244 has been cancelled.

25th June 2011 - Gatwick - Manchester cancellations.

Following the cancellation of last night’s BA2914 the BA2901 Manchester - London Gatwick was cancelled this morning. Additionally the BA2906/BA2907 London Gatwick - Manchester rotation is also cancelled.

24th June 2011 - G-VIID back from Houston.

Boeing 777-236ER G-VIID, which has been out of service since going technical in Houston on 20th June, positioned empty Houston - London Heathrow as BA9171 arriving into Heathrow late this evening.

24th June 2011 - BA2914 Gatwick - Manchester Cancellation.

As a result of the Edinburgh security incident and delayed arrival into London Gatwick of Boeing 747-436 G-DOCZ the BA2914 London Gatwick - Manchester was cancelled.

24th June 2011 - G-GBTB BA2944 Edinburgh Security Incident.

Boeing 737-436 G-GBTB was held on the taxiway at Edinburgh whilst operating BA2944 Edinburgh - London Gatwick. Initially the delay was due to airspace being closed owing to a Red Arrows display over Leith Docks.

A mobile phone was discovered on board which nobody claimed. The phone was handed to the pilot who took the extraordinary decision to open his cockpit window and drop it onto the tarmac. The aircraft was then approached by two security vehicles and taxied to a remote stand where police boarded and the pilot was removed to the terminal. The aircraft eventually departed at around 2310 with an entirely new crew. Passengers were kept on board throughout the four and a half hour delay.

24th June 2011 - Boeing 777-300ER to Riyadh.

In order to clear a backlog of passengers following Tuesday’s cancellation The BA263/BA262 London Heathrow - Riyadh rotation was today operated by Boeing 777-36NER G-STBB. As a result the BA297/BA296 London Heathrow - Chicago rotation was operated by Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIC.

22nd June 2011 - 777 Cardiff maintenance swap.

Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIW positioned London Heathrow - Cardiff-Wales as BA9172. 3 Class Sister G-YMMT positioned Cardiff-Wales - London Heathrow as BA9173.

22nd June 2011 - Riyadh Cancellation.

The BA263/BA262 London Heathrow - Riyadh rotation was cancelled today.

22nd June 2011 - G-EUPA Brussels Issue.

BA389 Brussels - London Heathrow was cancelled this morning despite scheduled aircraft A319 G-EUPA arriving in Brussels yesterday as BA404. This indicates a technical problem with the aircraft. The aircraft arrived into London early in the afternoon using the BA389 rather than a positioning callsign.

21st June 2011 - G-BNLG back in UK.

Boeing 747-436 G-BNLG arrived at Cardiff-Wales this morning as BA9177 from Victorville, CA. The aircraft will be at Cardiff undergoing maintenance for several months however its arrival may indicate an imminent return to service for G-BNLU which has been at Cardiff for several weeks since itself returning from Victorville.

21st June 2011 - Sydney pair escape Ash Cloud.

Both British Airways flights departed Sydney today despite worsening effects from Chilean Volcano Ash; Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMK as BA16 Sydney - Singapore - Heathrow and Boeing 747-436 G-BNLJ as BA10 Sydney - Bangkok - Heathrow. Both flights will be delayed into London Heathrow due to taking a circuitous route across Australia heading north to Brisbane and routing across Darwin.

11th June 2011 - BA163/BA162 uses Euro 767 G-BNWZ.

The BA163/BA162 London Heathrow - Tel Aviv rotation tonight was flown by European configuration Boeing 767-336ER G-BNWZ. As usual Club World passengers were offered a completely inadequate £150 compensation.

11th June 2011 - Gatwick Cancellations.

The BA2155/BA2154 London Gatwick - Bridgetown, Barbados and BA2886/BA2887 London Gatwick - Tunis rotations were both cancelled today.


11th June 2011 - BA163/BA162 uses Euro 767 G-BNWZ.

The BA163/BA162 London Heathrow - Tel Aviv rotation tonight was flown by European configuration Boeing 767-336ER G-BNWZ. As usual Club World passengers were offered a completely inadequate £150 compensation.

11th June 2011 - Gatwick Cancellations.

The BA2155/BA2154 London Gatwick - Bridgetown, Barbados and BA2886/BA2887 London Gatwick - Tunis rotations were both cancelled today.

10th June 2011 - A380 Registrations announced.

The registration series for the British Airways Airbus A380 fleet has been revealed. Aircraft will be registered in the G-XLE* series commencing with G-XLEA.

10th June 2011 - BA125 to Bahrain Only.

The Bahrain - Doha - Bahrain sectors of the BA125/BA124 London Heathrow - Bahrain - Doha rotation was cancelled today. The flights was operated by Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIK.

10th June 2011 - BA11 Singapore Cancellation.

The BA11/BA12 London Heathrow - Singapore rotation was cancelled today.

10th June 2011 - Hong Kong & Hyderabad delays.

BA27 London Heathrow - Hong Kong has been delayed until 11th June. The flight operated as BA27X operated by Boeing 747-436 G-BNLI.

BA277 to Hyderabad was also delayed until 11th June due to technical problems with Boeing 767-336ER G-BNWO.  This aircraft operated the flight on June 11th as BA277X.

9th June 2011 - Buenos Aires Cancellation.

The BA245/244 London Heathrow - Buenos Aires rotation has been cancelled today due to South American airspace restrictions following the Chilean volcano eruption.

9th June 2011 - Brussels Cancellations.

All London Heathrow - Brussels services have been cancelled today due to a strike at Aviapartner, British Airways’ ground handling agent at Brussels.

8th June 2011 - BA404 Brussels Cancellation.

BA404 London Heathrow - Brussels was cancelled today due to proposed strike action by BA’s ground handlers tomorrow. This flight night stops in Brussels so would be stuck in Brussels if the strike goes ahead.

8th June 2011 - G-YMMT Gatwick Awayday.

Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMT positioned London Heathrow - London Gatwick today as BA9157 before operating the BA2153/BA2152 London Gatwick - Bridgetown, Barbados rotation. On arrival back at Gatwick on 9th June the aircraft repositioned to London Heathrow as BA9158.

7th June 2011 - G-VIIS BA239 Dublin Diversion.

Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIS operating BA239 London Heathrow - Boston diverted to Dublin from around 450nm West of Ireland due to a medical emergency on board. Dublin was chosen over Shannon for the diversion on advice from the ground on the specialist medical services available.

6th June 2011 - G-EUUF back at Heathrow.

After operating the BA2882/BA2883 London Gatwick - Dubrovnik rotation A320 G-EUUF positioned London Gatwick - London Heathrow as BA9256.

5th June 2011 - G-EUUF at London Gatwick.

A320 G-EUUF positioned London Heathrow - London Gatwick today as BA9254 before operating the BA2714/BA2715 London Gatwick - Malaga rotation.

3rd June 2011 - G-BNWX back from Cardiff.

Following yesterday’s false start Boeing 767-336ER G-BNWX positioned Cardiff-Wales - London Heathrow today as BA9276.

3rd June 2011 - Philedelphia Cancellation.

The BA67/BA66 London Heathrow - Philadelphia rotation was cancelled today.

2nd June 2011 - Gatwick gets third summer A319.

Airbus A319 G-EUOE positioned London Heathrow - London Gatwick tonight as BA9250 to take up service from London Gatwick tomorrow. This gives London Gatwick its full summer allocation of three A319s: G-EUOB, G-EUOE and G-EUPS. These are the same aircraft that worked from London Gatwick in 2010..

2nd June 2011 - A320 G-EUYL enters service.

Airbus A320 G-EUYL entered service today operating BA714 London Heathrow - Zurich.

2nd June 2011 - G-BNWX not back from Cardiff maintenance.

Boeing 767-336ER G-BNWX was scheduled to position Cardiff-Wales - London Heathrow as BA9270 today but technical issues meant the positioning flight was cancelled and the aircraft remains at Cardiff.

1st June 2011 - A320 G-EUYL Delivered.

Airbus A320 G-EUYL was delivered from Toulouse - London Heathrow today as BA9251. The aircraft is the 100th Airbus narrowbody delivered to the airline.

1st June 2011 - G-YMMD BA95 Dublin Medical Diversion.

Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMD operating BA95 London Heathrow - Montreal was close to Shannon when crew requested a diversion to Dublin due to a medical problem on board. The aircraft continued to Montreal arriving approximately 3.5 hours late.

1st June 2011 - G-YMMR operates inaugural San Diego service.

3 Class Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMR operated the inaugural BA273/BA272 London Heathrow - San Diego service today. The departure of this service marked the official opening of Terminal 5C and arrival in San Diego was marked with a water cannon salute.

1st June 2011 - G-CIVD first 747 to operate BA275.

With the Boeing 777 from the London Heathrow - Las Vegas route switching to operate the new London Heathrow - San Diego service the BA275/BA274 Las Vegas route is now operated by Boeing 747-400s with G-CIVD operating the first service.

1st June 2011 - G-CIVV back at Heathrow.

Boeing 747-436 G-CIVV arrived back into London Heathrow this morning as BA9179 from Johannesburg. The aircraft had technical problems in Johannesburg on 27th May causing the cancellation of BA56 that day.

1st June 2011 - G-CIVM BA247 Viracopos diversion and delay.

Boeing 747-436 G-CIVM operating BA247 London Heathrow - Sao Paolo (depart London 31st May) diverted into Viracopos today due to weather in Sao Paolo. The aircraft was delayed on the ground for approximately ten hours before continuing to Sao Paolo

1st June 2011 - G-YMMS back from Cardiff.

Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMS positioned Cardiff-Wales - London Heathrow as BA9173.




20th June 2011 - G-VIID: Houston we have a Problem.

Boeing 777-236ER G-VIID operated BA195 London Heathrow - Houston today but the return flight BA194 was cancelled indicating a technical problem with the aircraft.

19th June 2011 - Edinburgh Cancellation.

The BA1452/BA1459 London Heathrow - Edinburgh rotation was cancelled today.

19th June 2011 - Rome Flight Cancellations.

The BA552/BA553 and BA548/BA549 London Heathrow - Rome and BA2542/BA2543 London Gatwick - Rome rotations were cancelled due to strike action at Rome airport.

18th June 2011 - Flight Cancellations.

The BA59/BA58 London Heathrow - Cape Town, BA67/BA66 London Heathrow - Philadelphia, BA588/BA589 and BA910/BA913 London Heathrow - Frankfurt rotations were both cancelled. today.

18th June 2011 - BA847 Stansted Diversion.

BA847 Warsaw - London Heathrow operated by A319 G-EUPO diverted via London Stansted.

17th June 2011 - 757 G-BPEO ferry flight.

Boeing 757-236 G-CPEO ferried London Heathrow - London Gatwick today as BA9255 to be stripped out prior to FEDEX freighter conversion.

17th June 2011 - G-TTOB Gatwick Awayday

A320 G-TTOB positioned London Heathrow - London Gatwick as BA9259 in order to operate the BA2584/BA2585 London Gatwick - Venice rotation before positioning back to London Heathrow as BA9250.

17th June 2011 - Gatwick Shorthaul Cancellations.

The following rotations were cancelled from London Gatwick today due to non availability of aircraft:

BA2906/BA2907 London Gatwick - Manchester

BA2886/BA2887 London Gatwick - Tunis.

17th June 2011 - Frankfurt Cancelled Again.

The BA906/BA907 London Heathrow - Frankfurt rotation was again cancelled today.

16th June 2011 - G-DOCE BA2714 Gatwick Return

Boeing 737-436 G-DOCE operating BA2714 London Gatwick - Malaga turned back to Gatwick about 30 minutes into the flight. Replacement Boeing 737-436 G-DOCN took over the flight arriving in Malaga 3 hours late.

16th June 2011 - G-DOCZ BA2957 Cabin Pressure Loss.

Boeing 737-436 G-DOCZ operating BA2957 Glasgow - London Gatwick suffered a loss of cabin pressure during the second half of the flight and made an emergency controlled descent before continuing to Gatwick for a safe landing. Oxygen masks were deployed.

16th June 2011 - Gatwick longhaul alterations.

The BA2155/BA2154 London Gatwick - Bridgetown, Barbados rotation is again cancalled. Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMF should return to Gatwick this evening as BA2150 from Antigua and St Kitts.

16th June 2011 - Frankfurt Cancelled Again.

The BA906/BA907 London Heathrow - Frankfurt rotation was again cancelled today.

15th June 2011 - 747 Cardiff Maintenance Swap.

Boeing 747-436 G-CIVD positioned London Heathrow - Cardiff-Wales as BA9171. Sister G-CIVF positioned Cardiff-Wales - London Heathrow as BA9172. This aircraft already has new First.

15th June 2011 - G-VIIA BA2159 Spares Diversion.

As a result of G-YMMF being out of service in Antigua today’s BA2159 operated by 4 Class Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIA routed London Gatwick - Antigua - St Lucia - Port of Spain. The return BA2158 is operating Port of Spain - St Lucia - London Gatwick. The extra stop in Antigua is presumably to deliver parts and/or engineering staff to Antigua to repair G-YMMF.

15th June 2011 - BA2155 Cancellation.

As a result of G-YMMF being out of service in Antigua the BA2155/BA2154 London Gatwick - Bridgetown, Barbados rotation was cancelled today.

15th June 2011 - Flight Cancellations.

The BA906/BA907 London Heathrow - Frankfurt rotation was cancelled today.

14th June 2011 - G-YMMF Antigua Problems.

Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMF operated the London Gatwick - Antigua leg of BA2157 today but the tag-on flight to St Kitts and Nevis was cancelled as was the return BA2156 St Kitts and Nevis - Antigua - London Gatwick.

14th June 2011 - 777 Cardiff Maintenance Swap.

Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMT positioned London Heathrow - Cardiff-Wales as BA9171. Sister G-VIIH positioned Cardiff-Wales - London Heathrow as BA9172. This aircraft has not been fitted with new First.

14th June 2011 - BA184 Halifax Diversion.

BA184 Newark - London Heathrow operated by Boeing 777-236 G-ZZZB diverted via Halifax, Nova Scotia due to a medical problem on board.

14th June 2011 - BA245/BA244 Cancellation.

The BA245/BA244 London Heathrow - Buenos Aires rotation was again cancelled today due to airspace restrictions in Argentina due to the Chilean volcano.

13th June 2011 - Winter 2011/2012 Longhaul Plans.

Plans revealed for the Winter timetable show the following significant changes:

Boston - Flights all to be operated by 4 Class Boeing 777-200s.

Cape Town - The seasonal second flight BA43/BA42 to be operated by Boeing 747-400s instead of 3 Class Boeing 777-200s and the BA42 Cape Town - London Heathrow to revert to daytime service.

Hong Kong - BA27/BA28 to switch from Boeing 747-400 to Boeing 777-300ER.

Houston - Scheduled for 1 x daily 4 Class Boeing 777-200 and 1 x daily Boeing 747-400 instead of 2 x daily Boeing 747-400s.

Los Angeles - BA279/BA278 rotation dropped.

Mauritius - Switches from London Heathrow to London Gatwick.

New York JFK - Scheduled for all Boeing 747-400 operation.

Rio de Janeiro - Increase from 3 x weekly to 6 x weekly all operated by 3 Class Boeing 777-200s.

12th June 2011 - BA163/BA162 uses Euro 767 G-BZHC.

The BA163/162 London Heathrow - Tel Aviv rotation tonight was flown by European configuration Boeing 767-336ER G-BZHC.

12th June 2011 - G-BNLG to return?

It is reported that Boeing 747-438 G-BNLG has been moved at Victorville, CA and is being prepared for a ferry flight to Cardiff-Wales prior to work before a return to service.

11th June 2011 - G-YMMO BA15 Phuket Diversion.

Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMO operating BA15 London Heathrow - Singapore - Sydney (depart London Heathrow 10th June) diverted to Phuket on the London - Singapore leg due to a serious medical issue on board. The aircraft was turned around in less than an hour in Phuket.
