30th November 2010 - 777-200 G-VIIC BA2233 return to London Gatwick.

Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIC operating BA2233 London Gatwick -

Bermuda returned to London Gatwick due to electrical issues

and a cracked windscreen. The flight  was  delayed until 1st

December and subsequently cancelled due to weather.


28th November 2010 - G-BUSK engine failure and diversion.

Airbus A320 G-BUSK performing flight BA1464 London Heathrow - Edinburgh diverted to Manchester following a surge to the right hand engine requiring it to be shut down. Passengers were accommodated overnight and continued to Edinburgh by coach.

27th November 2010 - 777-200 G-VIIT to Cardiff maintenance so G-VIIC to Gatwick.

3 Class Gatwick Boeing 7770-236ER G-VIIT positioned London Gatwick - Cardiff-Wales as BA9172. As cover 4 Class Heathrow aircraft G-VIIC positioned London Heathrow - London Gatwick on 26th November before taking up service as BA2037 to Orlando.

25th November 2010 - Cardiff movements.

Boeing 747-436 G-BYGD operated training flights from and to London Heathrow as BA9262/9263. Boeing 777-236 G-ZZZC positioned Cardiff-Wales - London Heathrow as BA9171.

24th November 2010 - 777 G-YMMH flies Queen to Abu Dhabi.

Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMH flew The Queen to Abu Dhabi yesterday for her tour of Oman and the UAE. The flight operated as BA9100.

23rd November 2010 - A320 G-BUSI positions for scrap.

Airbus A320 G-BUSI positioned London Gatwick - Lourdes as BA9250 for scrapping.

23rd November 2010 - 747 Cardiff maintenance swap.

Boeing 747-436 G-BNLS positioned London Heathrow - Cardiff-Wales as BA9272. Sister G-BNLN positioned Cardiff-Wales - London Heathow as BA9273. This aircraft is understood to have the new First cabin.

21st November 2010 - 777-300 G-STBC Enters Service.

Boeing 777-36NER G-STBC entered service today operating BA107 London Heathrow - Dubai.

21st November 2010 - 777-200 G-VIIU in one day Gatwick swap.

4 Class Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIU positioned London Heathrow - London Gatwick yesterday as BA9158 before operating the BA2155/2154 Bridgetown Barbados rotation. The aircraft positioned back to London Heathrow today as BA9159 before operating BA227 to Atlanta.

20th November 2010 - Cardiff 777 maintenance swap.

Boeing 777-236 G-ZZZC positioned London Heathrow - Cardiff-Wales as BA9172. Boeing 777-236ER G-VIID positioned Cardiff-Wales - London Heathrow as BA9173.

19th November 2010 - 777-300ER G-STBC arrives at London Heathrow.

British Airways’ third Boeing 777-300ER G-STBC positioned from Cardiff-Wales to London Heathrow today as BA9173. This is a leased machine and is designated a Boeing 777-36NER.

18th November 2010 - Cardiff 747 maintenance swap.

Boeing 747-436 G-CIVI positioned London Heathrow - Cardiff-Wales as BA9172. Sister G-BYGB positioned Cardiff-Wales - London Heathrow as BA9173. This machine is understood to be fitted with the new BA First cabin.






6th November 2010 - Final, Final British Airways 757 flight.

Boeing 757 G-CPET flew a low level London Heathrow - London Heathrow via Manchester flight as BA757 for the Flying Start charity.

6th November 2010 - 777-200 G-YMMJ returns from maintenance.

Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMJ positioned Cardiff-Wales - London Heathrow as BA9173.

5th November 2010 - 747 Cardiff maintenance swap.

Boeing 747-436 G-BYGB positioned London Heathrow - Cardiff-Wales as BA9172. Sister G-BYGA positioned Cardiff-Wales - London Heathrow as BA9177, this aircraft has the new First cabin fitted.

5th November 2010 - 777-200 G-YMME operates for QANTAS.

3 Class Boeing 777-236ER G-YMME operated QF10 London - Singapore on behalf of QANTAS due to QANTAS’s grounding of their A380 fleet. The aircraft will return as QF31 Singapore - London.

5th November 2010 - Third 777-300 G-STBC arrives in UK.

Boeing 777-36NER G-STBC arrived at Cardiff-Wales as BA9176 this morning direct from Paine Field.

4th November 2010 - 777-200 G-YMME back at Heathrow.

Having positioned to London Gatwick yesterday and operated a single round trip to Tampa 3 Class Boeing 777-236ER G-YMME positioned back to Heathrow today as BA9152 before operating BA249 to Rio De Janeiro.

4th November 2010 - 747-400 G-CIVN returns with New First.

Boeing 747-400 G-CIVN positioned from Cardiff-Wales - London Heathrow today as BA9173. This aircraft has the New First cabin fitted.

3rd November 2010 - 747-400 G-CIVE BA279 Glasgow Diversion.

Boeing 747-436 G-CIVE operating flight BA279 London Heathrow - Los Angeles diverted to Glasgow due to a medical emergency on board.

3rd November 2010 - Cancun route takes off.

British Airways inaugural London Gatwick - Cancun service took off today. BA2203 was operated by 3 Class Boeing 777-200 G-VIIR.

3rd November 2010 - 777-200 G-YMME swaps bases.

3 Class Boeing 777-236ER G-YMME positioned from London Heathrow - London Gatwick today as BA9151 and immediately entered service as BA2167 to Tampa.

3rd November 2010 - 777-200 G-YMMH in US Positioning Flight.

Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMH operated flight BA183 London Heathrow - New York JFK today then immediately positioned empty to Washington as BA9150. The aircraft then operated BA292 Washington - London Heathrow. There was no outbound BA293.

2nd November 2010 - Boeing 747-400 G-BNLJ BA288 Diversion.

Boeing 747-436 G-BNLJ operating flight BA288 Phoenix - London Heathrow (departure on 1st November) diverted to Shannon due to a medical emergency on board.

1st November 2010 - Titan Airways BAe146 G-ZAPK in for BA Cityflyer.

Titan Airways BAe146-200 G-ZAPK operated for BA Cityflyer from London City today on Glasgow services.

1st November 2010 - Boeing 747 Cardiff maintenance swap.

Boeing 747-436 G-BNLT positioned from London Heathrow - Cardiff-Wales as BA9172. Sister G-BNLY positioned Cardiff-Wales - London Heathrow as BA9173.

1st November 2010 - Mixed Fleet Takes Off.

The first flight crewed by BA’s new Mixed Fleet cabin crew took off today.  BA854 London - Prague was operated by A319 G-EUOD. The Mixed Fleet cabin crew are employed on new contracts and will be type rated for the A318/A319/A320/A321 and Boeing 777. Initial Mixed Fleet routes are Prague, St Petersburg and Pisa with Las Vegas and Denver to be added in December. Heathrow flights will operate with either existing or Mixed Fleet crew but the two will not work together on the same flight.  


17th November 2010 - Luxembourg to switch from Gatwick to Heathrow.

British Airways flights from London - Luxembourg will switch from London Gatwick to London Heathrow from late March 2011. The new timings are:

BA416 London Heathrow 0830 - Luxembourg 1050 Mon-Fri

BA418 London Heathrow 1545 - Luxembourg 1805 Daily

BA417 Luxembourg  1140 - London Heathrow 1205 Mon-Fri

BA419 Luxembourg 1850 - London Heathrow 1915 Daily

All flights will operate with A319/320/321 aircraft. The Luxembourg route is primarily Business based and so was not a good fit for the more leisure oriented Gatwick market.

15th November 2010 - BA to launch Paris-Orly route.

British Airways today announced a new route from London Heathrow - Paris-Orly to commence on January 10th 2011. Initially this will operate 12 x per week rising to 14 x per week with the Summer 2011 timetable. Initial timings are:

BA334 London Heathrow 1005 - Paris Orly 1225 Mon-Sat

BA338 London Heathrow 1920 - Paris Orly 2140 Mon-Fri/Sun

BA331 Paris Orly 0725 - London Heathrow 0755 Mon-Sat

BA335 Paris Orly 1335 - London Heathrow 1405 Mon-Sat

All flights will operate with A319/320/321 aircraft.

14th November 2010 - 777 Cardiff maintenance swap.

4 Class 777-236 G-VIID positioned London Heathrow - Cardiff-Wales as BA9172. Sister G-VIIC positioned Cardiff-Wales - London Heathrow as BA9173.

13th November 2010 - 747 G-BNLS BA84 Vancouver return.

Boeing 747-436 G-BNLS operating BA84 Vancouver - London Heathrow returned to Vancouver when Engine # 1 surged and was shut down around 30 minutes into the flight.

12th November 2010 - Stored A320 G-BUSI in test flight.

A320 G-BUSI performed a test flight from London Gatwick - London Gatwick today as BA9277.

11th November 2010 - G-BNLF BA54 Johannesburg fuel issues.

Boeing 747-436 G-BNLF operating BA54 Johannesburg - London Heathrow returned to the gate due to a fuel leak from the left hand engines. The flight is expected to operate 24 hours late.

10th November 2010 - Cityflyer happenings.

Titan Airways BAe146-200 G-ZAPK was in use on BA Cityflyer services again today.  Meanwhile new E190 G-LCYN has ferried in Exeter and will enter service shortly. This aircraft will feature “700th E Jet” markings.

9th November 2010 - Las Vegas switches to 747.

As of 1st June 2011 the BA275/274 London Heathrow - Las Vegas service will switch from 3 Class Boeing 777-200 operation to 4 Class Boeing 747-400 operation.

8th November 2010 - Cardiff maintenance movements.

Boeing 777-200 G-VIIC positioned London Heathrow - Cardiff-Wales as BA9171.

Boeing 747-400 G-BNLN positioned London Heathrow - Cardiff-Wales as BA9172.

Boeing 747-400 G-BNLT positioned Cardiff-Wales - London Heathrow as BA9173.

8th November 2010 - BA announce Gatwick - Marrakesh service.

British Airways have announced a new service for 2011 between London Gatwick and Marrakesh. Flights commence on 27th March 2011 and will be operated by Boeing 737-400s.

Timings are:

BA2892 London Gatwick 1305 - Marrakesh 1535 Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday.

BA2893 Marrakesh 1620 - London Gatwick 2055 Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday.

7th November 2010 - 777-200 G-YMMD operates for QANTAS.

3 Class Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMD operated QF10 London - Singapore on behalf of QANTAS due to QANTAS’s grounding of their A380 fleet.
