British Airways Boeing 787-9 G-ZBKG operating BA34 Kuala Lumpur – London Heathrow (depart Kuala Lumpur 12th March) diverted via Phuket in the early hours of this morning due to a medical emergency on board. This was the first visit of a British Airways 787 to Phuket.

BA CityFlyer E190 G-LCYT London City Medical and Edinburgh Weather Diversions.

BA CityFlyer Embraer 190 G-LCYT operating BA8487 London City – Malaga was at 25,000 ft close to Eastbourne this morning when it turned back to London City for a safe landing due to a medical issue on board. The aircraft was able to depart again after around an hour on the ground. After returning from Malaga the aircraft operated BA8728 London City – Glasgow, however this diverted to Edinburgh due to weather at Glasgow. The aircraft then positioned Edinburgh – London City as BA9750. As a result BA2215 Glasgow – London City was cancelled.

British Airways B787-9 G-ZBKO Ankara Medical Diversion.

British Airways Boeing 787-9 G-ZBKO operating BA34 Kuala Lumpur – London Heathrow (depart Kuala Lumpur 10th November) diverted to Ankara Esenboga early this morning due to a medical emergency on board. The aircraft later continued Ankara Esenboga – London Heathrow as BA34D.

British Airways B777-200ER G-VIIW BA2256 Lajes and Madrid Diversions.

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIW operating the Antigua – London Gatwick sector of BA2256 St Kitts and Nevis – Antigua – London Gatwick (depart St Kitts and Nevis 17th May) diverted via Lajes this morning due to a medical emergency on board. The aircraft then further diverted to Madrid due to the original crew not having sufficient hours to reach London Gatwick, remaining on the ground until this evening when it continued Madrid – London Gatwick using callsign BA22D.

British Airways B747-400 G-CIVV BA174 St Johns Medical & Dublin Diversions.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVV operating BA174 New York JFK – London Heathrow (depart New York JFK 14th August) diverted via St Johns, Newfoundland in the early hours of this morning due to a medical emergency on board. Crew did not have sufficient hours to reach London Heathrow and the aircraft therefore further diverted to Dublin where a substitute crew had positioned to take the aircraft on to London Heathrow.

British Airways B787-8 G-ZBJG BA69 Dublin Medical and Heathrow Diversions.

British Airways Boeing 787-8 G-ZBJG operating BA69 London Heathrow – Philadelphia was around two hours into its journey when it turned back to Dublin due to a medical emergency on board. Crew did not then have sufficient hours to reach Philadelphia and the aircraft therefore routed Dublin – London Heathrow where passengers were accommodated. As a result BA68 Philadelphia – London Heathrow as cancelled.

British Airways B777-200ER G-VIIX BA2159 London Gatwick Medical Return.

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIX operating the London Gatwick – St Lucia sector of BA2159 London Gatwick – St Lucia – Port of Spain was close to Truro at 36,000 ft this morning when it turned back to London Gatwick due to a medical emergency on board. The aircraft was able to depart again shortly thereafter.

British Airways A380 G-XLEH BA209 Washington Medical Diversion.

British Airways A380 G-XLEH operating BA209 London Heathrow – Miami with a two hour delay diverted to Washington this evening due to a medical emergency on board. Crew did not have sufficient hours to reach Miami so the aircraft will overnight at Washington and the return BA208 will be delayed overnight.

British Airways B777-200ER G-VIIY BA188 Shannon Medical Diversion and Gatwick Switch.

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIY operating BA188 Newark – London Heathrow (depart Newark 9th June) diverted via Shannon this morning due to a medical emergency on board. On arrival at London Heathrow the aircraft positioned London Heathrow – London Gatwick as BA9171 and entered service from London Gatwick as BA2233 London Gatwick – Bermuda.

British Airways B777-200ER G-YMMA BA218 St Johns Medical Diversion.

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMA operating BA218 Denver – London Heathrow (depart Denver 8th March) diverted to St Johns, Newfoundland in the early hours of this morning due to a medical issue on board. However the aircraft then encountered a refuelling issue and when this was rectified crew did not have sufficient hours to reach London. The aircraft has therefore nightstopped at St Johns.

British Airways B777-200ER G-YMMS BA2063 Athens Diversion.

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMS operating BA2063 London Gatwick – Mauritius diverted to Athens this evening due to a medical emergency on board. Crew would have timed out before arrival into Mauritius and the aircraft has therefore been delayed overnight at Athens.

British Airways B747-400 G-CIVC BA275 London Heathrow Return.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVC operating BA275 London Heathrow – Las Vegas had begun its Atlantic crossing just over an hour into the journey when it turned back t0 London Heathrow due to a medical issue on board. Passengers have been accommodated overnight.

British Airways B787-8 BA277 London Heathrow Medical Emergency Return.

Following the earlier Boeing 787-8 technical issue at London Heathrow, British Airways Boeing 787-8 G-ZBJB was switched from operating BA187 London Heathrow – Newark to operating BA277 London Heathrow – Hyderabad. However shortly after take off there was a medical emergency on board requiring the aircraft to return to London Heathrow. Once cleared crew did not have sufficient hours to operate the flight, and with no standby crew available the flight has been delayed overnight and passengers accommodated.

British Airways B747-400 G-BYGE BA286 Keflavik Diversion & Technical Issue.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-BYGE operating BA286 San Francisco – London Heathrow (depart San Francisco 25th March) diverted to Keflavik this morning due to a medical emergency on board. However the aircraft then developed a thrust reverser problem and was unable to continue to London Heathrow.

British Airways A380 G-XLEC BA269 Keflavik Diversion.

British Airways A380 G-XLEC operating BA269 London Heathrow – Los Angeles diverted via Keflavik due to a medical emergency on board. The aircraft landed overweight but was cleared to continue after around three hours on the ground. This was the first appearance of a BA A380 at Keflavik.

British Airways B747-400 G-BNLP BA11 Kiev Medical Diversion.

British Airways B747-400 G-BNLP operating BA11 London Heathrow – Singapore (depart London 14th December) diverted to Kiev this morning due to a medical emergency on board. Once the emergency was cleared it was apparent that crew would not be able to reach Singapore within hours and so the aircraft will remain in Kiev until the early hours of tomorrow.
